The Florida sabal is generally hardy to about \u003cstrong\u003e15–20°F\u003c\/strong\u003e, which makes it \u003cstrong\u003eless cold-hardy than the windmill palm\u003c\/strong\u003e. In mild winters it can survive, but \u003cstrong\u003esevere north Texas freezes can cause significant damage or kill the palm\u003c\/strong\u003e, especially when young.
